MY BEST  PHOTO'S of 2014

Picking a best photo was something that was nearly impossible for me to do, so I decided to go ahead and post 3. All 3 were taken over the last summer in New York City. They have special value to me for that reason; I LOVE New York City, especially the Upper East Side where 2 out of these 3 photos were taken. The first photo I put up is the one that wasn't taken in the Upper East Side, obviously, because it's the Brooklyn Bridge. I think this photo is very professional looking, which is one of the reasons I like it so much. I think I captured the stature of the bridge very well in my angling, although because we were in a car at the tine, I couldn't play with as many angles as I wanted to. I changed this photo to black and white afterwards because I think it adds a much more deep element to the photo than what it was in just regular color. It also helped make the cloud cover overheard slightly more noticable, and added an eerie feel to the image. This photo is composed of tons of leading lines, shapes, and positive/negative space, which is why I think it's such an awesome photo.

The next photo was taken from our hotel room window. It's the building that was directly across the street. Playing with angles was not an option here, at all, because the window was only so big and I didn't want to risk falling out to get a cool shot. However, I like this angle I chose a lot, because it emphasizes that pattern of the windows and gives the feeling that this is a really large, never ending building. There is a lot of shape and line to this photo, even some small amounts of light inside of the windows. I chose to keep this photo in color, and actually saturated it slightly, because I thought it added a really cool element to the photo and made it much more interesting than it would be in black and white.

The final photo was taken on the streets of NYC. I had been looking up and all of a sudden I saw this really cool angled building reflecting the clouds off of it. Of course I took a photo really quickly and was lucky enough to have it come out so great. I angled the camera straight up so that I could capture the natural curvature that the building had. Later on ,I changed the color to black and white because it emphasized the clouds on the side of the building and made them much more noticable. And, just like in the bridge photo, it added an eerie element to the photo, which I though was different and cool. This picture has tons of leading lines, reflection, and is just one of the best photos I believe I have ever taken. Out of the 3, this is probably one of my best as far as photo composistion goes!
